Daughters of Utah Pioneers

The Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP) are dedicated to preserving and honoring the legacy of the pioneers who settled Utah and the surrounding region. Founded in 1901, the International Society Daughters of Utah Pioneers (ISDUP) has spent more than a century focused on historical preservation, education, and community service through the collection of artifacts, the sharing of pioneer stories, and the stewardship of historic sites.
In 2026, the DUP proudly celebrates 125 years of preserving pioneer history and strengthening communities. This milestone reflects generations of women working together to ensure that the stories, sacrifices, and contributions of early pioneers are not forgotten.
In 1921, the DUP organized a Company in Washington County. As membership and service efforts grew, the Company expanded and, in 2001, divided into three Companies: Washington, Washington East, and Washington West. Today, these Companies include local Camps throughout Washington County, each actively involved in community outreach, educational programs, and historical preservation.
The McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum is a DUP museum, and its continued success is made possible through the dedication of DUP members who volunteer their time, share their talents, and support the preservation of Southern Utah’s pioneer heritage.
Membership in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers offers meaningful opportunities to learn, serve, and connect with others who share an interest in history, education, and community service. Women of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to join and become part of this ongoing legacy.
