Museum Director Receives Community Service Award

Teresa Orton, Director of the McQuarrie Memorial Museum in St. George, Utah, was awarded the 2022 Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Community Service Award by the local DAR Chapter, color country, for her volunteer work as museum director for the past 13 years.

Teresa is a native of St. George and many of the artifacts, histories, and photos housed at the Museum are of her ancestors.

Teresa is responsible for the Museum joining the St. George Chamber of Commerce and has participated in videos showing highlights of the the museum. She writes a monthly newsletter, Muse News, and maintains the Museum website and Facebook page. Teresa is an active member in the Centennial Camp, Utah Washington Company, St. George, Utah where she serves as an officer.
