2025 DUP Highlights: Supporting the Museum, Serving the Community

Updated: 20 hours ago

As we reflect on 2025, we are grateful for the continued service and dedication of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP) and their vital role in supporting the McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum and the broader Washington County community.

Throughout the year, DUP members worked together through three Companies, 24 Camps, and more than 800 members, united in preserving pioneer history through service, education, and community involvement.

Supporting the Museum

In 2025, DUP leadership and volunteers continued to make the McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum possible. The museum board includes the Presidents of the Washington, Washington East, and Washington West Companies, along with appointed board members who guide preservation efforts, support volunteers, and help ensure the museum remains a welcoming place to learn and connect with pioneer history.

Community Outreach

DUP members were active throughout the community, participating in events such as Cotton Days, Peach Days, Dixie Days, Swiss Days, and Ivins Heritage Days. Through outreach booths, displays, and personal interaction, members shared pioneer stories and engaged with visitors across Washington County.

Youth Educational Events

Education remained a key focus in 2025. DUP Camps shared pioneer history with students through interactive exhibits and presentations, helping youth connect with local history in hands-on and meaningful ways.

Senior Outreach & Pioneer Storytelling

DUP members also brought pioneer history to assisted living communities, including visits to Ovation Assisted Living. These experiences fostered connection, conversation, and shared memories across generations.

As we move into 2026, the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will celebrate 125 years as an organization, continuing a legacy of preserving history, supporting museums, and serving communities throughout Utah and beyond.

We are deeply grateful for the DUP and their continued support of the McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum. Their dedication ensures that the pioneer history in Southern Utah remains preserved and accessible for generations to come.
