As summer begins to wind down, the McQuarrie Memorial Museum is looking ahead to an exciting new Daughters of Utah Pioneers year while continuing to welcome visitors from near and far.
Our August 2026 Muse News newsletter celebrates a busy July filled with museum tours, community outreach, and educational presentations, including hands-on pioneer demonstrations for visiting youth. Thank you to the many volunteers and docents whose time and dedication help preserve and share Southern Utah's pioneer heritage.
August Highlights
This month's newsletter includes:
Updates on upcoming DUP officer training for Washington East, Washington West, and Washington Companies.
News about the Museum's participation as a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and veterans through September.
Information about Magnify Utah, a new statewide program connecting communities, historic places, and local stories. Passports and participation details will soon be available at the Museum.
A fundraising opportunity to help preserve the historic Relief Society Building in Washington, Utah.
Important docent reminders, including the new location of the Open Museum form beginning August 10 and links to the updated Docent Handbook and calendar available on our website.
We're also grateful for the continued generosity of our talented Daughters who create handmade items for the Museum Gift Shoppe. Patriotic items remain especially popular as we continue celebrating America250Â throughout the year.
