Beginning of the Cotton Mission with Charles Adair

If you missed our January Third Weekend Event, you can now watch the presentation “Beginning of the Cotton Mission with Charles Adair” on our YouTube channel.

Charles Adair shared insights into the early days of the Cotton Mission and the efforts of pioneer settlers to establish cotton production in Southern Utah. His connection to the story is especially meaningful—his ancestors were among the early pioneer settlers who came to Washington, Utah as part of the original Cotton Mission.

During the presentation, Adair explored how the Cotton Mission shaped the settlement and development of communities in Washington County. Although the effort to grow cotton in the region faced many challenges, the perseverance of these early settlers helped lay the foundation for the communities we know today.

We are grateful to Charles Adair for sharing both historical knowledge and personal connections to this important chapter of local history.
