Welcome to the June 2026 edition of Muse News, the official newsletter of the McQuarrie Memorial Museum, also known as the DUP Museum or Pioneer Museum.
Summer has arrived, bringing sunshine, family gatherings, and opportunities to connect with our shared heritage. The Museum has welcomed several families researching pioneer ancestors in recent weeks, with more visits scheduled throughout the summer. Helping visitors discover and preserve their family stories remains one of our most rewarding missions.
In May, fourth-grade students from Bloomington Elementary visited the Museum for their annual field trip. Students enjoyed pioneer games on the lawn and toured the Museum, gaining a hands-on appreciation for local history.
We are also grateful for the many talented daughters who continue to create and donate handmade items for the Gift Shoppe. These unique items remain popular with visitors and help support the Museum's ongoing work.
Our May Third Weekend Event, Ghost Towns of Washington County presented by Loren Webb, drew an enthusiastic crowd and concluded our event season. Monthly presentations will resume in October 2026.
