Welcome to the May 2026 edition of Muse News, the official newsletter of the McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum—also known as the DUP Museum or Pioneer Museum.
May is a beautiful season of renewal, and while it marks the final month of scheduled camp meetings, the work of preserving history continues. The museum remains open daily, with ongoing opportunities to serve as docents and contribute to the Gift Shoppe.
✨ April Highlights
Our April Third Weekend Event featuring Dixie Miller was both informative and engaging, offering a fascinating look at women’s fashion from 1880 to 1900. We appreciate all who attended and supported the event.
We are also grateful to the many Daughters who have served as docents and contributed handmade items to the Gift Shoppe—your service helps keep the museum running and welcoming to visitors.
đź“… May Highlights
There are several upcoming opportunities to connect with local history and community events:
• May 2 – Cotton Days finale drone show in Washington
• May 8 – America250 event in Ivins City
• May 16 – Third Weekend Event: Ghost Towns of Washington County presented by Loren Webb
🙌 Ongoing Needs & Reminders
The museum continues to welcome volunteers to serve on staff and assist with daily operations. Donations of handmade items—especially red, white, and blue themed pieces—are encouraged as we celebrate America 250 throughout the year.
The Gift Shoppe is also stocked with new handmade items, and fabric is available for those interested in contributing.
