Washington East Company of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers

As part of our celebration of 125 years of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, we are highlighting the dedicated Companies that help preserve pioneer history in Washington County. Today, we feature the Washington East Company and its District Convention.

On Saturday, November 8, members of the Washington East Company DUP gathered for their annual Company/District Convention — a day filled with history, service, and community connection.

A special highlight of the event was a presentation by Dori Phillips, portraying Hortense McQuarrie Odlum, who shared the story of how her generosity made the McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum possible. Her legacy continues to inspire members as they work to preserve pioneer history for future generations.

The Company also held a silent auction to raise funds for the Duncan’s Retreat Marker project. Thanks to the generosity and participation of many Daughters, approximately $1,200 was raised to support this important historical effort.

Events like this reflect the heart of the Washington East Company — dedication to preservation, education, and meaningful community service.

We are grateful for their continued efforts and for the leadership of their current board members as they serve Washington County and support pioneer heritage.
