Welcome to the July 2026 edition of Muse News, the official newsletter of the McQuarrie Memorial Museum—also known as the DUP Museum or Pioneer Museum.
July is a month of celebration, remembrance, and gratitude as we commemorate both the founding of our nation and the arrival of the pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley. Their courage, determination, and faith continue to inspire us today.
As Elder L. Tom Perry taught:
"There is something about reviewing the lessons of the past to prepare us to face the challenges of the future."
This month, we're especially grateful for the many talented daughters whose handmade creations continue to fill the Museum Gift Shoppe. Visitors have enthusiastically supported our patriotic red, white, and blue items, making them some of our most popular gifts of the season.
Highlights from the July Newsletter
🇺🇸 The Museum remains open on both July 4 and July 24, making it a wonderful place to bring family and friends for a cool indoor activity during your holiday celebrations.
🛍️ The Gift Shoppe continues to receive beautiful handmade donations from talented daughters throughout Washington County.
📚 Officer training is coming in August, and a new Docent Handbook will be available soon.
🎉 Communities throughout Washington County will be celebrating all month long. We encourage everyone to support local festivities and take time to reflect on the people and events that shaped our nation's and our community's history.
As we continue celebrating America250, we invite you to visit the McQuarrie Memorial Museum to discover the stories, artifacts, and pioneer legacy that make Washington County's history so unique.
