During this engaging presentation, Susannah Nilsson shared the rich heritage of Santa Clara and the traditions brought to Southern Utah by the early Swiss settlers. These pioneers played an important role in the development of the community, bringing their culture, faith, and customs with them as they built new lives in Washington County.
The presentation explored the history of Santa Clara, the experiences of the Swiss settlers, and some of the traditions that have been passed down through generations. Guests who attended the event also enjoyed a hands-on demonstration of traditional paper cutting, a folk art that has long been part of Swiss culture.
We are grateful to Susannah Nilsson for sharing her knowledge and helping us better understand the history and traditions that shaped Santa Clara.
